Scandinavian Airlines, the fact has finally managed to get rid of his recent heavy troubled subsidiary Spanair. The papers were signed yesterday. In addition to the tragic plane crash at Madrid's Barajas Airport in August last year, Spanair has been characterized by large economic problems.
SAS will retain nearly 20% of the company. The Catalan consortium which buys Spanair for 1 euro (about SEK 10) has the objective to strengthen the Barcelona flight connection in conjunction with the new terminal T-1. Then, one can safely assume that they want to push Iberia in the general competition. SAS teaches at least get out of any future skadeskåndsanspråk since the accident, with its minimal share in the company of 19.9%.
