Día de Todos Los Santos - All Saints Day

As in Sweden, so celebrated All Saints Day in Spain and is a national holiday. The big difference from Sweden, however, that the day is always celebrated on 1 November in the Catholic countries.

In Spain, people visit their relatives' graves, lay flowers and light candles. On November 1 is the day of the year that it sold most flowers.

Since I recently had a death in the family, it feels this weekend extra heavy this year. Will try to continue working on the website anyway, even if it feels sluggish.

      Hi

As a newly arrived to Spain, I need a lot of inormation. Nowhere have I found the info on that November 2nd was a holiday (in all cases, the shops closed, and many Spaniards had time off). Things would you like to know in advance.

Should have been in the article about Dia de Todos Los Santos. Poor!

      Hi Jerker!

Let me just briefly inform you that my husband suddenly passed away on 15 October in the home, and it was just barely I managed to post this article. I try to update my website as much as possible, mostly because I need to dispel thoughts. The photo in the article is a time where my husband had a heart attack in the garden.

As I wrote in the article that is 1 November a national holiday, that since November 2 is a local holiday in some regions is not something I bring up. The link below is some more information on Spanish holidays, both national and local:

      Google is your best friend!

      Sincerely
      Monica in Madrid
