One of the hottest summer since 1970
One of the three warmest summers since 1970 in Spain is over for this time. For now Autumn has arrived with cooler night temperatures since a week back. And with autumn's arrival, I hope to update more diligent in this blog, the long summer is over.
It is mainly in the central regions as heat records have been measured by the state metrological office. The only region that has not had a higher average temperature than normal, Galicia in the northwest. The warmest day was July 23 when one of Murcia and Alcantarilla measured 45 degrees. Madrid had the warmest August months since at least 1970.

A beautiful autumn day in la Rioja 2005
