Green beans with ham - Judias verdes con jamón
Haricots verts (green beans) with ham is just as easy to cook as it is delicious. It is a common appetizer in Spanish cuisine, but the right is of course good to put out the tapas table, too.
Ingredients for four people as an appetizer:
- 750 g green beans, preferably fresh beans, but it goes well with deep-frozen.
- 150 grams of Spain, cured ham - Jamón serrano
- 1/2 yellow onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, pressed
- olive oil
- salt
Here's how:
- Rinse beans and remove ends, then divide each bean in two to three pieces.
- Put water and salt in a large saucepan and cook the beans until they are soft enough, they will gladly be al dente, that have some bite. Then pour over them in a colander.
- While beans are cooking, dice the ham and chop the onion.
- Pour a few tablespoons of olive oil in a saucepan and add the chopped onion and the pressed garlic, let fry together for a minute.
- Add the diced ham and cook another few minutes.
- Pour in the end of the cooked beans and stir to heat until everything is warm.
- Serve at once.
Enjoy!
